Physics & Astronomy received seed funding in 2007 and began their SEI efforts in the Fall of that year. The department moved to full funding starting in 2008 and now has a complement of six STLFs: Peter Newbury, Louis DesLauriers, and Cynthia Heiner are full-time, Jim Carolan is an emeritus faculty member, and James Day and Ido Roll are part-time.
The Department SEI effort is currently in 3 areas: Redesigning courses - starting with the Physics 100 course, developing a program to better prepare graduate student Teaching Assistants, and development of a course database system to archive course materials so that they can be easily re-used and improved.
